Diflunisal (Dolobid) is
a non-steroid, non-narcotic analgesic, anti-inflammatory and
antipyretic drug (NSAIDS) for acute or long-term use in mild to moderate
pain. Dolobid is completely absorbed within 2-3 hours following oral
administration, and has long duration of action. A dosage prescribed
depends on the severity of pain, patient's weight, age, and patient
response.
NSAIDS risks:
Active ingredient contains Diflunisol 250 and 500 mg in the tablet form
Inactive ingredients:Cellulose, Hydroxypropyl methycellulose, Hydroxypropyl cellulose, Magnesium stearate, Starch, Talc, Titanium oxide, Dye.
Dispense:
Dolobid (Diflunisal) 1000 mg is comparable in analgesic efficacy to Acetaminophen 600 mg with Codeine 60 mg
Each Dolobid is film-coated tablet supplied in 250 mg and 500 mg. Patient should take Dolobid as a whole tablet without crushing or chewing. Maintenance doses should not exceed 1500 mg a day. Death has been reported in overdose case.
