Fluconazole (Diflucan) is a synthetic Triazole antifungal agent (prevent the growth of yeasts and other fungal organisms).
Fluconazole is medication for treating candidiasis, infections caused
by fungus (yeast) in the mouth, throat, esophagus, blood, bladder,
genital. Fluconazole can also prevent the fungal infection in people with
weak immune systems, e.g., patients with cancer treatment, bone marrow
transplant, or AIDS. Pregnant women should not take Fluconazole.
Active ingredients
Diflucan tablet contains 50, 100, 150, 200 mg of fluconozole
Inactive ingredients: Povidone, Microcrystalline cellulose, Dibasic calcium phosphate anhydrous, croscarmellose sodium, Dye, Magnesium stearate

- 150 mg as a single dose once a day. The length of the treatment depends on the improvement of the condition
- Multiple doses, 200 mg on the first day, follow by 100 mg, once a day for at least 2 weeks

- Loss of appetite,
- Dark urine, clay-colored stools,
- Jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes)
- Fever, chills, body aches, flu-like symptoms
- Severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash

- Weakness, lack of energy (Asthenia)
- Convulsions
- Diarrhea, upset stomach
- Headache
- Dizziness, Seizures
- Unpleasant taste in the mouth
- Allergic reaction
- Hepatitis (inflammation of the liver)
- Muscle pain (Myalgia)
- Insomnia
- Tremor, vertigo, paresthesia (abnormal body sensation: numbness, burning and tingling

Do not take Fluconazole with Cisapride (Propulsid). Other common drugs that may affect Fluconazole are:

- Antidepressants (Elavil, Vanatrip, Limbritrol, Pamelor)
- Cancer medicines
- Cholesterol lowering drugs
- Heart or blood pressure medicines
- Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (Advil, Motrin, Celebrex, and others)
- Oral diabetes medication (Glucotrol, Diabeta, Orinase, and others)
- Sedative (Valium, Ativan, Xanax, and others)
- Seizure medication (Dilantin, Carbatrol, Tegretol, Depakene
- Prednisone (Deltasone, Sterapred)
